Currently, we are undergraduate seniors in Washington, DC, both female but Charlie and Dylan are not our real names. However, we are very close friends and have lived together previously. Currently, Charlie lives alone and Dylan with a roommate. We came up with the idea for this blog while gchatting, hungover at work, discussing the events from the previous night. We try to keep it classy and are clearly the most productive interns ever hired. We both work for large lobbying firms.
Charlie, originally from Fort Lauderdale is what you might call a serial dater. At 21 years old she has had a boyfriend for 8 years straight. And no, not the same boy. Just consistently rotating out long term relationships. Is this healthy? Of course not! It's pathetic! Well, let's not be harsh. It's a personal quality that needs revision. As girls we must stay positive about ourselves! Who wants to hang around a Debbie-downer? Vom. Very recently single, Charlie is taking this opportunity to STAY single for at least a few months, using this as a self discovery period. How can a person even define who they are independently if they've always had someone else to depend on? Hence, the time to explore oneself is upon us and Charlie is going to use this opportunity to the fullest!
Dylan, originally from Long Island is the more adventurous of the two, to say the least. She has recently returned from studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark where she had some of the most amazing experiences of her life. Quite the opposite of Charlie, Dylan has had very few long term relationships and tends to have more hookups in general. Not in a slutty way, but in a "I'm searching for my someone better than you, NEXT!" way. Always loud and fun Dylan is the type of girl you want to hang out with, will always come to your aid, and is ready to beat a boy up at any given moment if he screws you over, even though shes about the size of a chihuahua.
You could say Charlie is the more conservative one, while Dylan is the wild child. But we love each other dearly and accept all of each others flaws openly. Cough, yea right. What sort of girlfriend doesn't tell you whether your eyebrows are atrocious or when you're a drunk mess and SHOULD NOT GO HOME WITH THAT BOY NO MATTER HOW HOT HE IS! We also differ greatly on what we consider appropriate behavior. For example Charlie has got a MAYJAH issue with cocaine use, while Dylan thinks drug use is a personal choice. More on moral issues later.
We're all about maintenance. Regular waxings, hair and nail care are essential. We don't claim to have all the hottest beauty tips but through trial and error we're learning with you. We'll also share the experiences of all of our friends who may in turn hate us when they figure out we're dishing on them. Some might ask, "Would true friends tell all of their friends secrets?" And to that we say, "Hey if its anonymous it's for the greater good!" Right? We as women need to stick together and learn from each others bloodshed.
We're going to discuss current problems a lot of young girls are having these days, looking as objectively as we can at important issues of the day (It's so unattractive to be un or misinformed. EW.), and most importantly, sharing our disgraces in dating with you all. So stay tuned. There's MUCH more to come.
